Community-wide Interfaith Weekend November 12 - 14
An inspiring community-wide Interfaith Weekend sponsored by the MCCJ Clergy Dialogue is scheduled for Friday,
November 12 through Sunday, November 14. The focus of the weekend is to emphasize the commonality within the faith community, build relationships between the diverse religious groups, and overcome cultural isolation.
Participating congregations, schools and organizations are asked to plan their own vehicle for the Interfaith Weekend.
Plans are underway varying from worship services to educational and cultural events, and include pulpit exchanges with clergy from another faith, and performances of choirs at neighboring congregations or mosques. MCCJ Clergy Dialogue will make available a Prayer for Unity that can be included in worship services.
In an effort to continue to build interfaith relationships, the Clergy Dialogue is also planning a community - wide Day of Service in 2011 to reinforce the idea that if we can come together to share our similarities as well as our differences, it strengthens the social fabric and benefits all South Floridians.
For questions, information, or thoughts on how your group is participating in Interfaith Weekend, call Roberta Shevin at 305.755 .6096 ext. 16.
