Details: In preparation for one of the most important event to be hosted by the city, The US Conference of Mayors will descend on Miami, June 20th till the 24th. More than 1,200 international and domestic dignitaries and Mayors will be welcomed and catered to at key parts of various venues, from the moments they arrive at the airport, to their hotel, break-out sessions and at the special evening events. In order to make this a success and make a lasting impression, we will need many volunteers covering a variety of shifts and venues.

Dear Faith Based/Community Leader: The 2008 Hurricane Season is here and We must take every step to prepare our communities for the possible intrusion of a storm and other hazards.
The City of Miami Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) is focused on making sure that the residents of the City of Miami have equal access to disaster preparedness information. With a special focal point on the senior population, NET is sharing the importance of an Emergency Communications Plan.
We currently have a limited supply of promotional items and we are looking forward to the opportunity to share this information with our most vulnerable population during times of disaster.
If your church and/or community organization is in the City of Miami municipals limits, and you have a senior group of at least 10, we would like to schedule a time to come and talk with your seniors and provide our informational brochures. Participants will receive a tote bag and a portfolio (while supplies last).
Dates can be scheduled Monday – Friday from 10 am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2pm. Workshops last about an hour and a half and can be presented in English, Spanish, or Creole.
