Description:
The FCFC Leader’s Club Prevention Program provides
middle school youth with positive activities on a weekly basis
in partnership with schools, churches, and organizations across
Miami Dade County. The empirically based LifeSkills Training
program is the foundation for the program. It focuses on drug
resistance skills, personal self-management skills, and general
social skills. This program also incorporates a Team Building
Activity, which gives participants an opportunity to practice
the skills they have learned. Additionally, the families of
the participants are engaged monthly through an event
called Family Day. It is a fun chance for participants to
show their family what they have been learning in Leader’s
Club while enjoying a meal together.
